Eligibility

Teacher and educational leadership candidates must create or update their MyPSC account on the GaPSC website and select their reason for testing. Information about creating a MyPSC account and reasons for testing is available in the GACE® Registration Bulletin.

Educator Ethics – Program Entry (350)

Candidates will gain eligibility by selecting the appropriate reason for testing.

  • State-approved traditional educator preparation program candidates (colleges/universities) should select 7 as their reason for testing.
  • State-approved non-traditional educator preparation program initial teaching candidates (GaTAPP) should select 7 as their reason for testing.
  • Out-of-state initial teaching candidates doing field experiences/clinical practice in Georgia should select 4 as their reason for testing.

Educator Ethics – Program Exit (360)

Program providers must instruct and assess candidates in the Georgia Code of Ethics and ethical principles to guide decision making before granting them eligibility to attempt Georgia Educator Ethics – Program Exit (360).

  • State-approved traditional educator preparation program candidates (colleges/universities) have been entered into the Traditional Program Management System (TPMS). These candidates will claim their enrollment in TPMS. To request eligibility, they should select 2 as their reason for testing in MyPSC. Educator preparation programs should grant eligibility to test at the appropriate time.
  • State-approved non-traditional EPP candidates (GaTAPP) have been entered in the Non-Traditional Reporting System (NTRS). These candidates do not have to claim enrollment in their MyPSC account. GaTAPP providers will determine candidate readiness on an individual basis after instruction and assessment in ethical decision making, and grant eligibility to the candidate by selecting the GACE Educator Ethics — Program Exit button in NTRS. GaTAPP candidates can view the bottom of the Assessments screen in their MyPSC account to verify they have been granted eligibility to take Georgia Educator Ethics — Program Exit (360).
  • Out-of-state initial teaching candidates doing field experiences/clinical practice in Georgia have been entered into TPMS. They should select 4 as their reason for testing to request eligibility to test. Educator preparation programs should grant these candidates eligibility to test via TMPS at the appropriate time.
  • Out-of-state teachers seeking certification in Georgia via reciprocity with less than three years of experience must have a MyPSC account and should select 4 as their reason for testing.
